At Gunthorpe Primary School, we strive to provide a well-rounded and exciting Design and Technology curriculum. The children have a clear purpose, user and function for each project, and they use this to help to design and make their product and then evaluate the outcome with the user in mind. They look at a range of existing products, use a variety of tools and materials and are given the time and space to discover what they are interested in. A real-life concept is the starting point to develop their interest, curiosity and a love of their own learning. We explore creativity and innovation whilst teaching new skills and processes to give children the knowledge they need to lead their own learning and build their Design and Technology understanding.
